What is Drawing and Talking?
The Drawing and Talking method is a safe time-limited therapy used to support those have suffered trauma or have underlying emotional difficulties. Accept, Adapt Thrive, provide a highly quality, person-centred therapeutic play work approach. 1-2 intervention; takes place over the course of 12 weeks. This approach helps ease a symbolic resolution to old conflicts and enables those who would otherwise go untreated to get the help they need. Suitable for children 5+, young people and adults.
How long are the sessions?
Each session, either face to face or online- run for 30 minutes at a time.
All sessions are on a 1:1 basis and run for 12 weeks.
Are there any benefits?
Clients using Drawing and Talking, learn to detach from their trauma in a healthy way. Working through the 3 stages in a practical, participants experience drawing in the presence of another person and how to stay in the world of the drawing when asking questions.
This technique is proven to enhance mental health and social/ emotional well-being.
